Alyssa Helfand, MHC-LP
(she/her/hers)
Hi! I’m Alyssa, and I earned my Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling and Behavioral Medicine from Boston University School of Medicine, and my Bachelor of Science in Biopsychology, Cognition, and Neuroscience from the University of Michigan. I primarily work with adults, providing support for emotional dysregulation, disordered eating, relationship challenges, and feelings of disconnection from themselves.
My approach to therapy is grounded in warmth and genuine care. I aim to create a space where you feel safe to explore your emotions and experiences. My goal is to help you feel fully accepted for who you are, fostering an environment where you can show up authentically. I draw from a variety of evidence-based modalities, including ACT, DBT, and somatic therapy, while helping you integrate past and present experiences. Above all, I offer culturally sensitive, trauma-informed care that honors your unique story and background.
I believe that true growth happens when we approach therapy holistically—mind, body, and spirit. Together, we’ll explore your emotional experiences and uncover pathways to reconnect with your authentic self. I strive to bring my whole self into our work, creating a welcoming, and non-judgmental environment. Ultimately, therapy should be a place that fosters reflection, growth, self-discovery, and – hopefully – some fun! I’m deeply committed to walking alongside you as you work toward a life of authenticity, balance, and empowerment.
