About Us
Bhava Therapy is a group psychotherapy practice that provides integrative, holistic and effective psychotherapy and mental health treatment both online via teletherapy and in person in either of our two New York City based office locations.
What Is Bhava?
Bhava is a Sanskrit word that refers to our emotional and mental state of mind. It is both a descriptive and action-oriented word that means “being” and “becoming”. Bhava also refers to the act of setting or receiving an attitude of peace, vitality and wellness.

Our
approach
As no two human beings are exactly alike, no two therapeutic relationships or therapeutic treatment protocols are exactly alike. All Bhava Therapy Group therapists strive to meet you where you are and create a personalized plan for self-growth and personal change.
We believe that the therapeutic relationship is the medium through which emotional, psychological and spiritual growth can take place. Within a warm, accepting and non-judgmental atmosphere we want to help you connect to your innate strengths and empower you to identify and work on the changes you would like to see in your life.
Our approach is honest and genuine which may at times seem challenging; however, we believe that growth and change is challenging and may require you to experiment with new ways of being in the world. We want to be there for you in this new journey.
not A “one-size-
fits-all”
Our approach is not “one-size-fits-all,” meaning we are not guided by one specific modality or school of thought (i.e., cognitive behavioral therapy, humanistic, psychodynamic). We have a broad based level of expertise and are able to use these skills in order to identify your unique needs and prescribe a treatment course that’s best for you.
Whether you’re struggling with anxiety, depression, relationship issues or feeling stressed-out or stuck in life, our therapists can provide you with the necessary therapeutic support and skills aimed to help you. We offer individual therapy and counseling for anxiety and depression and trauma, couples therapy and family therapy, grief therapy and supportive counseling for parents as well as group therapy for select issues and topics throughout the year. Please call or email us to learn more about how we can help you.
