Alyssa Kushner, LCSW
(she/her/hers)
Taking a trauma-informed, strengths-based, relational, and holistic approach, I believe that healing involves attending to your physical, mental, and emotional health alike. When appropriate, I will integrate practices like mindfulness skills, self-compassion development, creativity, somatic strategies, and guided meditations. I also have training in DBT and EMDR and will utilize DBT/CBT skills when needed or incorporate EMDR as part of the treatment plan. Though I find that the most important part of the therapy process is the human and therapeutic relationship, so I always prioritize creating a safe connection. I love to work collaboratively to individualize treatment and empower and challenge my clients to achieve their best and develop new ways to cope with difficulties.
I promise I practice what I preach, so for self-care I enjoy lifting weights, cooking vegetarian meals, journaling, hiking, yoga, and using mindfulness myself. I have a background in singing, playing piano, and appreciate live music and broadway shows, they bring me joy!
