Provides Individual Therapy to Teens and Adults
Hello! I’m Maria, a NY state licensed mental health counselor. I received my undergraduate degree at Rutgers University for psychology, and I received master’s degree in mental health counseling at Pace University. I’ve worked in early childhood development at the Goddard School and the Learning Experience, as well as early intervention through my work as a youth advocate at Friends of the Children NY where I worked in the school and community setting. My current clinical work is focused on adolescents and adults with various needs such as navigating life transitions, anxiety, depression, and complex trauma.
I bring a comforting presence to each client in hopes of a deep clarity to unfold in sessions. Establishing a trusting and open therapeutic relationship is of utmost importance. Coming from a strengths-based, client-centered perspective, I work collaboratively with clients to identify any barriers that may be hindering progress toward growth and work wholeheartedly to help clients reach their goals in life.
In each session, I attune to what clients’ may not be saying in sessions and provide a space for safe self expression. I bring to therapy my own lived experiences and transparency in order to connect and see each client as their own unique being.
