Psychotherapist

(she/her/hers)

Hi, I’m Sanjana, a mental health counselor with a Master’s in Counseling for Mental Health and Wellness from New York University. I have experience working with diverse populations, specializing in supporting individuals, couples, and people from the LGBTQIA+ community in navigating anxiety, relationship issues, grief, and intergenerational trauma.

In my approach to care, I adopt a holistic and client-centered perspective. I firmly believe in acknowledging the inherent goodness within each person and understanding their behaviors in the context of their unique life experiences and systemic influences. My experiences and my research work in community trauma have further deepened my understanding of how trauma impacts individuals and shapes their worldviews, which is why my therapeutic foundation is grounded in a trauma-focused approach, where I emphasize understanding attachment styles. I incorporate grounding and somatic processing techniques to foster mindfulness. I integrate modalities such as Gestalt therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and Internal Family Systems (IFS) to tailor the therapeutic space to each individual’s needs.

Having recently migrated to the US, I bring a deep appreciation for diverse cultural and social contexts, which enriches my ability to comprehend how personal backgrounds shape individuals’ lives. In the therapeutic space, I see myself as a compassionate witness to your unique story. I firmly believe that you are the author of your own life narrative, and my role is to support and empower you in rewriting and reclaiming your story. It is a privilege to accompany you on your journey toward healing, and growth.
