(she/her/hers)
Hi, I’m grateful for your interest in my experience!
I’m Taylor-Monique and I have a Master of Social Work from the Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College and a Bachelor of Arts in Forensic Psychology from John Jay College of Criminal Justice. My professional experience reflects a strong commitment to promoting social justice and well-being across diverse populations especially BIPOC and marginalized communities. I have addressed a wide range of issues with children, adolescents, individuals, families, and small groups, including emotion regulation, immigration, depression, life transitions, autism, intergenerational trauma, LGBTQIA+ concerns, court advocacy, discrimination, childhood trauma, ADHD, PTSD, relationships, anxiety, and identity.
Life can be incredibly complex, and even with its challenges, I believe you’re the expert on your own life. When we work together, I prioritize collaboration, making sure you’re an active partner and have a voice in the therapeutic process. My therapeutic approach is warm and conversational, grounded in an anti-oppressive, holistic, and trauma-informed lens. I use psychoeducation and tailor therapy modalities like DBT and Mindfulness, among others, to fit your unique experiences, providing a non-judgmental affirming environment for deep exploration and healing.
Community care is a core part of who I am. My Caribbean immigrant background has deepened my understanding of diverse experiences and the importance of community. This insight enhances my ability to connect with those various backgrounds and fuels my passion for empowering you to explore your experiences, discover your strengths, and overcome obstacles.
I look forward to connecting with you!
