Thinking about starting therapy?
Life can be hard. We get it. We are here to help you manage the hard stuff so you can find more ease and satisfaction in life.
How We Can Help
Bhava therapists are authentic and compassionate and embody a diversity of training and unique perspectives to better help you thrive. We carefully assess your individual needs and develop a treatment plan that provides integrative, holistic and practical methods of psychotherapy designed specifically for you.
Meet With A Therapist
We can help children and teens, young adults, adults and the aging population through providing individual psychotherapy, child play therapy, and couples counseling. We can meet you via teletherapy or in-person in either one of our two New York City based offices.
“Before starting with my therapist at Bhava, I was also skeptical about therapy. I have learned so much about the process of therapy, I have learned to question my thoughts about my life and others in a way that has healed and strengthened my relationship not only with others, but most importantly with myself. Thank you Bhava for the amazing work you do! “
Therapy Doesn’t Have to Be Scary
Bhava therapists are authentic and compassionate and embody a diversity of training and unique perspectives to better help you thrive. We carefully assess your individual needs and develop a treatment plan that provides integrative, holistic and practical methods of psychotherapy designed specifically for you.
Our Approach
The Bhava Method is an eclectic approach to healing and growth that is grounded in the deep appreciation and respect for both the distinct individuality of each client and the unique dynamic co-created by each client and their therapist and may differ from client to client depending on the nature of the client’s treatment goals, developmental and trauma history, culture, and personality style. Our approach is based on the following principles:
That we exist and come to know ourselves through the relationships we have to others and our world
The process of change, no matter how small, is ever present and always occurring
4 Steps to Starting Therapy
Starting therapy can feel like a lot, and that is why we have dedicated new client coordinators who are here to personally guide you through the process. They take the time and put a lot of thought and effort into matching you with the right Bhava therapist to support you.
Our goal is for you to find a therapist you can trust, that you feel safe with, a therapist that can “get you” and who has the professional expertise to guide you in the right direction towards living a healthier and more satisfying life. We offer IN-PERSON and VIRTUAL THERAPY.
Once you decide that now is the best time for you to start therapy, it is smooth and straightforward from this point forward as follows:
Step 1
Complete this confidential New Client Inquiry Form which will be received by a member of our intake team
Step 2
Once we receive your inquiry for seeking psychotherapy, one of our new client coordinators will reach out to you within 24-48 hours of receiving your inquiry to schedule a brief phone call with you to learn more about what you’re looking for from therapy and so you can determine together if Bhava is the best fit for your therapeutic needs.
Step 3
Following this initial call, the new client coordinator will connect with our team of therapists to work on arranging an initial consultation session for you based on what you’re looking for from therapy, what insurance you have, what your timeframe looks like and compares that with our therapist’s area of focus, approach, and availability.
Step 4
Our new client coordinator confirms the initial consultation with a therapist from our team, they will confirm this initial consultation session with you and forward necessary paperwork for you to complete no later than 48 hours prior to this scheduled consultation with a Bhava Therapist.
